MTL to supply Process I/O for Honeywell and Moore control systems

MTL has just signed long-term contracts to supply its pioneering MTL8000 Series Process I/O to two of the world's leading process industry manufacturers.

Honeywell Industrial Automation and Control, an industry leader in the development and sales of process control equipment and services, currently utilises MTL's intrinsic safety products. The new agreement calls for the new MTL8000 Series Process I/O system to be integrated into Honeywell's "Total Plantt" Solution systems providing customers with fully distributed control in hazardous areas. Engineering work to facilitate integration has commenced with volume sales expected to begin in the first half of the 2000 financial year.

Moore Process Automation Solutions, the US based control and instrumentation supplier, which is a global leader in batch control and the world's number two supplier of plant safety systems, has also chosen the MTL8000. Moore's new Procidia system, which aims to "bring the Internet to process control", will incorporate the MTL8000 to handle stglals and data acquisition. Engineering work is well advanced and first sales are expected early in the final quarter of the 1999 financial year.

MTL has long been the world's leading supplier of devices for the intrinsic safety (IS) technique of explosion prevention in the process industry. Now the company has developed Process I/O. Long-awaited by the industry, this is flexible, scalable, remote distributed I/O which can be mounted at any point in the process. It is designed for use in all types of process applications including those with harsh environments and hazardous areas.

MTL already has supply partnership agreements with Fisher Rosemount (a subsidiary of Emerson Electric) and Phoenix Contact of Germany. The latest agreements add two more leading control system specialists to the company's expanding OEM customer base.
